iiNet Usage Gadget

Customers of the ISP iiNet in Australia have a limit on how much volume they can consume each month.

This is my first Windows Gadget, and I created it for my parents to help them monitor their usage. My talented wife provided the design and graphics for the UI.

Here are some examples of the gadget. You can see in one that the limit has been blown, though only a few days short of the end of the billing period. That provided the motivation for making this gadget!

The gadget is pretty straightforward. The first time you run it, you should launch the settings window and enter your username and password.

Download the file above. Once downloaded, rename the file to remove the .zip extension, such that the filename is iiNetUsage.gadget. With this done, double click the gadget in Windows Explorer to install it. Unfortunately this renaming is required as my host blocks the .gadget URL extension.
